I’ve been really into patterns lately, so I decided to make a set of painted ornaments to satisfy that creative urge—plus it’s December, so it felt perfectly seasonal. These are quick, graphic, and fun to customize.
The designs use similar motifs to my DIY painted wrapping paper, but they take on a different character when applied to round ornaments. The shapes and strokes read differently on a curved surface, which makes each one unique.
All you need are plain blank ornaments, a few colors of acrylic paint, and a small brush. I bought my blank ornaments from CB2, but any smooth, undecorated ornaments will work. If you want a longer-lasting finish, you can use glass paint instead of acrylic—either option is simple and fast.
