7 Weekend DIY Projects You Can Finish in a Day

7 Weekend DIYs to Try

This weekend I’ll be in and out of the studio while a large woodworking installation is being fitted — I’m really excited to share it soon. I’ll likely post a sneak peek on Snapchat and Instagram Stories if you want an early look. Aside from that, my plans are still open, especially since I’ve already watched every episode of Stranger Things on Netflix (highly recommended). I’m glad the weekend has arrived and I’ll figure out how to spend it.

If you’re planning a weekend project, here are a few ideas to inspire you. Below are seven simple, fun DIYs worth trying:

  1. Copper plant stands — a stylish, modern option to elevate houseplants and add warmth with metallic accents.
  2. Homemade churro ice cream milkshakes — a decadent dessert-drink hybrid that’s perfect for a warm weekend treat.
  3. Five summer cocktail recipes — refreshing mixed drinks to enjoy while relaxing or entertaining friends.
  4. Industrial wall shelves — a practical DIY that adds storage and a minimal, urban look to any room.
  5. Graphic laundry baskets — customize plain baskets with bold patterns to make laundry day a little more fun.
  6. Geometric envelopes — create striking, handmade envelopes for notes, invitations, or gift cards.
  7. Sunny striped DIY nails — an easy, cheerful manicure idea that brightens up the season.

Paper & Stitch was nominated for Best DIY Blog in the 2016 Bloglovin’ Awards (this year sponsored by H&M). Only five blogs were nominated in each category, and voting runs throughout the month. If you enjoy Paper & Stitch, I’d appreciate your vote.

Some friends and fellow bloggers were nominated as well: Sugar & Cloth for Best Entertaining Blog, The House That Lars Built for Best Design Blog, and In Honor of Design for Best Home Decor Blog. If you have favorites among them, consider voting for the blogs you love.

Have a wonderful weekend.
