Happy Friday! This weekend is hectic for me because—surprise—we’re moving. The movers are already loading the truck and we’re officially moving into our new place today. I’ll share more details soon, but for now I’m thrilled to have a new home with extra space to spread out and several rooms to decorate. I’ll try to share some behind-the-scenes moments on my Instagram stories if you want to follow along.
With everything going on, I probably won’t tackle any craft projects this weekend (unless unpacking counts). Still, I rounded up a few of my favorite DIY projects in case you have some free time and want a fun weekend project. Here are 8 DIYs worth trying this weekend:
1. DIY hand-painted indigo clay bowls — a simple, tactile project that adds handmade charm to your kitchenware.
2. Kumquat centerpiece — a bright, modern spring arrangement using kumquats (and other seasonal fruit) to make a fresh table focal point.
3. Faux map drawer dresser — transform a plain dresser with map-lined drawers for a unique, travel-inspired piece.
4. DIY magnetic display rail — a sleek, functional way to showcase photos, notes, and small artwork using magnets.
5. How to make a weaving loom — a beginner-friendly guide to building a loom and starting weaving projects.
6. Extra-large crystal planter — create a statement planter with crystal-like forms for an eye-catching plant display.
7. Geometric acrylic earring DIY — craft modern, colorful earrings from acrylic for personalized jewelry.
8. How to dye almost anything — techniques and tips for dyeing fabrics and objects to refresh or customize your belongings.
I hope one of these inspires you to get crafty this weekend. Whether you have an afternoon for a quick project or a whole day to devote to making something new, there’s something here for every skill level.
Have a happy weekend,
– Brittni
