7 Weekend DIY Projects You Can Finish in a Day

7 DIYs to Try This Weekend

This week has been an exciting one: we announced the P&S studio and have been busy behind the scenes creating Halloween costumes. Stay tuned — the first reveal is coming next week.

This weekend Jeff and I are hosting a game night. I’m really looking forward to it — I love games and might even be a little competitive. There will certainly be plenty of snacks and laughter. Before I return to costume-making for the afternoon, here are seven weekend DIY projects to try. They’re simple, creative, and a great way to spend a few hours.

1. S’more cookies — a gooey, chocolatey treat inspired by Hot for Food. These cookies capture the campfire flavor in a bite-sized dessert perfect for sharing.
2. DIY office organizers — smart, stylish ways to keep your desk tidy and personalized. Simple materials and a little creativity turn clutter into a neat, functional workspace.
3. Key pouch DIY — a small sewn or stitched pouch that keeps keys and small essentials together; perfect for pockets or purses.
4. Candied orange peels — a lovely homemade confection that makes great gifts or a zesty snack. Candied peels are also beautiful as garnish on desserts.
5. Halloween treat bags DIY — craft-your-own treat bags tailored to your Halloween theme. You can paint, stamp, or sew designs to make each bag unique.
6. Boho braided half-up hairstyle — an easy, romantic hairdo that combines braids with a relaxed half-up look, ideal for casual events or costume parties.
7. Hanging clay air plant holders — minimalist, handmade planters that showcase air plants and add natural decor to any room.

Each project can be adapted to your skill level and materials on hand. For baking and candy-making, follow food-safety guidance and precise measurements. For sewn or crafted items, gather basic tools like scissors, glue, needle and thread (or a sewing machine), and any decorative accents you want to add. For hairstyles, have a few bobby pins and a light hairspray on hand to keep the look in place.

If you prefer to try only one project, pick the one that matches your mood: a cozy baking project for a relaxed afternoon, a quick craft for a creative burst, or a hair tutorial if you want to freshen your look for game night. These small projects make great ways to unwind, connect with friends, or create handmade gifts.

Wishing you a fun, productive weekend filled with creativity and good company.
