If you follow this blog, you probably know I’m a fan of dip-dye projects. I recently made a dip-dyed laundry bag and shared the full tutorial on the Urban Outfitters blog. It’s an easy, budget-friendly project that’s perfect for dorm rooms and makes a practical, stylish accessory for anyone who needs a lightweight laundry carrier.
This bag is great for hauling laundry from upper-floor bedrooms to a washer and dryer downstairs. I simply cinch the top, carry it to the stairs, and toss it down when I’m feeling especially efficient—or lazy, depending on your perspective.

Below are a few photos of the finished bag to give you a sense of the finished look and color gradation. The technique is simple: a gradual dip into fabric dye creates a soft ombré effect that looks intentional and modern without requiring advanced craft skills.
If you want to recreate the same style, I used a basic canvas laundry bag as my starting point. It’s a roomy, durable option that takes dye evenly and holds its shape well when carried. The neutral canvas base makes the dyed portion stand out, and the drawstring top makes it easy to cinch closed.
