The easiest and fastest way to make candles—perfect for last-minute gifts or a simple craft with kids: how to make rolled beeswax candles.

I enjoy making candles in many ways—poured soy candles, dipped beeswax tapers, budget-friendly votives—but rolled beeswax candles are the simplest of all. They take minutes to make, require no melting, and are ideal for quick gifts or activities with children.

Materials
- Beeswax sheets
- Candle wick
- Scissors
How to Make Rolled Beeswax Candles
1. Lay out a sheet of beeswax and trim it to size if necessary. Beeswax sheets cut easily—4×5 or 4×6 inches work well for small candles like the examples shown.

2. Warm the beeswax sheet by rubbing it between your palms for about 30 seconds; the slight warmth softens the wax and makes rolling easier. Place the warmed sheet on your work surface and position a wick so it extends a little beyond one short edge—about 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the sheet. The wick should reach nearly to the opposite edge.

3. Begin rolling the sheet slowly and tightly around the wick. Keep the roll snug as you go to ensure a neat, even candle. Continue rolling until you reach the end of the sheet.

4. Seal the outer edge to finish the candle. Press the final edge down firmly with your fingertips; the natural warmth from your hands usually bonds the wax. If the edge doesn’t hold, gently heat it with a hair dryer on low and press to secure.
Variations and Extra Ideas
Use leftover scraps to make small shaped candles—great for cake toppers or tiny gifts. Cut two identical shapes from your beeswax using a cookie cutter or scissors, sandwich a short length of wick between them, and press the pieces together firmly. Optionally add a small wax base to stabilize the piece.

Where to Find Beeswax Sheets
Beeswax sheets are available from craft stores or online retailers. Natural yellow sheets are classic, but colored and patterned beeswax sheets are easy to find and make attractive, unique candles. Choose plain or patterned sheets depending on the look you want.
