As adults, homemade pop tarts can feel way more sophisticated than the boxed kind. Still, there’s no denying the rush of excitement when a parent brought home that familiar blue box—those childhood vibes are real. Whether you prefer the store-bought version or a homemade batch, pop tarts make a nostalgic, fun treat.
Today I’m bringing that nostalgia back with pop tart milkshakes. These are delightfully simple and taste like a grown-up upgrade of a childhood favorite. Even if you swap the boxed variety for homemade pop tarts, the milkshake is just as irresistible.

Ingredients (1 serving)
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- A splash of milk
- 1 pop tart, any flavor you like
Note: I tested three flavors—cookies and cream, red velvet, and strawberry. Cookies and cream was my favorite, but any flavor you love will work well.
Instructions
- Chop the pop tart into small pieces.
- Place the pop tart pieces in a blender with 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a splash of milk.
- Blend until smooth and lump-free. If the shake is too thick, add a little more milk and blend again.
- Pour into a glass and garnish with a piece of pop tart. I like cutting pieces into fun shapes for a playful touch.
That’s it—simple, indulgent, and totally nostalgic. These milkshakes are great for a quick dessert, a fun weekend treat, or a playful twist on your usual shake routine.
