There is an extraordinary amount of female talent in the art world today. In honor of International Women’s Day, here’s a curated list of 17 remarkable female artists whose work I’ve been loving lately.
As a former artist and teacher, I’m constantly inspired by the breadth of ideas and skill these women bring to their practice. As someone who collects art (or hopes to), I’m excited to follow their careers and add pieces to my collection over time. Below, in no particular order, are 17 female artists from around the globe you should be following.

1. Bobby Clark — Her balanced, geometric compositions and generous white space feed any minimalist craving. Clark’s muted yet rich palettes look great in a variety of interiors, and her studio is as inspiring as her work.

2. Jesse Chamberlin Marble — A photographer with a sharp eye for color and composition. Her images are full of spatial awareness and playful moments that make them ideal inspiration for shoots or interiors.

3. Tammy Kanat — An Australian fiber artist who began as a jewelry designer and now handcrafts textural wall pieces. Her attention to movement, texture, and color is extraordinary; each piece feels lovingly made.

4. Jen Garrido (Jenny Pennywood) — If you love textiles, Garrido’s small-batch home goods — napkins, pillows, tea towels — are beautiful examples of thoughtful pattern and craft.

5. Claire Oswalt — An Austin-based artist whose mixed-media pieces are both calming and immersive. Her surfaces invite you to study texture and color closely.

6. Jessalyn Brooks — Her modern, tasteful interpretations of the female form have a cubist sensibility that feels fresh and celebratory.

7. Kirra Jamison — A longtime favorite for her vibrant color use and joyful compositions that instantly lift the mood of any room.

8. NGCollective Studio (Laura Naples & Kristin Giorgi) — A sister duo who create layered, feminine pieces using calming palettes and organic forms. Their work lends a serene, modern warmth to interiors.

9. Laurence Leenaert (LRNCE) — Based in Marrakech, Laurence blends textiles and design into distinctive home pieces. Her aesthetic is unique and wearable in a home; I recently purchased a pillow set and love it.

10. Heather Day — A process-driven artist who translates landscapes and travel impressions into organic color-blocked abstracts. Her work fits beautifully in contemporary interiors.

11. Samantha Totty — Known for cool-toned collages and confident pops of cobalt, her work makes a simple yet bold statement.

12. Hannah Fox — An Australian painter exploring natural tones and texture. Her work interprets landscape in a quiet, tactile way that feels timeless.

13. Kristin Texeira — Her sophisticated color palettes make her paintings especially compelling for anyone who pays attention to how colors interact.

14. Anna Roberts — Don’t be fooled by the photographic look of some pieces: Roberts creates whimsical, realistic pastel scenes and still lifes that feel fresh among contemporary abstract work.

15. Cheryl Louise Humphreys — A paper artist who elevates embossing and paper techniques into sculptural, delicate work. Her craftsmanship is exceptional and worth studying.

16. Raven Roxanne — A Charleston-based painter and mixed-media artist whose pieces feel expressive and original.

17. Victoria Zschommler — A photographer who nails creamy tones, surprising color combinations, and elegantly composed still lifes. Her feed is a lovely reminder to take style risks.
