I had hoped to take a few days off for a short vacation with Jeff before the baby arrives in a few weeks, but those plans didn’t work out. I’ll be staying home and tackling house projects instead—nothing surprising there. No complaints, though; I still have plenty to get done.
If you have some free time this weekend and want a DIY project or two, here are a handful of favorites that are easy to start and fun to finish. The wooden planter and the shirred wide-leg pants are at the top of my try-it-soon list. Which ones will you try?
Here are seven weekend DIY ideas to inspire you:
- DIY wooden plant stand — a simple, stylish project to elevate your houseplants.
- Five-minute hair hack — a quick beauty fix that’s one of my favorites for busy mornings.
- DIY cardboard vases — creative, lightweight vessels you can make from recycled materials.
- Macramé tote bag — a handmade bag with boho texture that’s practical and pretty.
- Upcycled furniture idea — refresh a piece you already own with paint, hardware, or reclaimed materials.
- DIY statement leather earrings — bold, lightweight accessories you can craft at home.
- Shirred wide-leg pants — comfortable, fashionable pants you can sew for a relaxed weekend wardrobe.
These projects range from quick and easy to more involved, so pick one that fits your time and skill level. Gather your materials, set aside a few hours, and enjoy the satisfaction of making something by hand.
Wishing you a productive and happy weekend.
