6 DIY Projects to Tackle This Weekend

6 DIYs to Try This Weekend

This weekend Jeff and I are finally going to tackle the house. No guests are coming—we’ve just reached that point where everything needs attention. It’s not dire, but the floors could use a mop and the living areas could use a good tidy. I especially need to round up my props and craft supplies; I can’t wait to move into a dedicated studio so I don’t have to juggle that part of life anymore.

Other than cleaning, I don’t have big plans—maybe a DIY project or two. What are your plans?

If you’re in the mood to try something creative this weekend, here are six projects I loved this week. They’re fun, approachable, and make great weekend activities:

1. Upgrade any tote with sewn leather straps — A simple way to give a plain tote a polished, durable finish by adding custom leather handles.

2. DIY Tetris cookies from Sugar & Cloth — Colorful, playful cookies inspired by the classic game. They’re surprisingly straightforward and great for sharing at a casual gathering.

3. Pastel popsicles DIY from Studio DIY — Light, dreamy summer popsicles with soft pastel hues. A sweet, refreshing project that’s perfect for warm weather and photo-worthy treats.

4. Herb planter cutting board DIY from The Merrythought — Combine functionality and charm by turning a cutting board into a built-in herb planter. It’s a smart way to keep fresh herbs handy in the kitchen.

5. DIY canvas magazine hanger from Design Sponge — Create a stylish, minimalist magazine or blanket sling from canvas for an instant organization upgrade in any room.

6. Red velvet waffles with donut glaze — A decadent weekend breakfast or brunch idea that pairs fluffy red velvet waffles with a sweet, glossy glaze inspired by classic donuts.

P.S. If you’re looking for an insightful read this weekend, I recommend a thoughtful post about the challenges of social media. It resonated with me, and I’d love to hear your perspective if you want to share your thoughts.

Wishing you a relaxing and creative weekend.
