Holiday Flower Power: Winter Style Guide and Atlanta Wreath Workshop

A Holiday Style Guide + Wreath Workshop

Last weekend we hosted a cozy wreath workshop with Malorie of Petal + Fold, and it was such a joyful afternoon. Keeping the group intentionally small allowed us to stay relaxed, give everyone space to work, and enjoy the process of making large, beautiful wreaths without feeling crowded.

To match the laid-back atmosphere, decorations were minimal yet thoughtful. I designed a new winter style guide that became the visual focus of the workshop alongside the flower table. That simple focal point helped set the tone without overwhelming the space.

There were a few DIY touches sprinkled throughout the event—little handmade accents that made the day feel personal. But the true highlights were the flowers. We sourced everything from Flower Muse, one of my favorite suppliers for fresh blooms and greenery, and Malorie arranged the gorgeous centerpieces. The florals made the room feel festive and warm.

Below you’ll find photos from the workshop and the DIY ideas we used. For more wreath inspiration, see the asymmetrical wreath tutorial I shared earlier in the week.

Style guide // It had been a while since I created a full style guide. Although I made a mini holiday version for December previously, I wanted something more developed that felt like the other monthly guides. So I started fresh and built a winter-focused style guide for December, adding a few festive details—ombre brass bells, wreath ideas, and more—to stretch the look into holiday territory.

Flowers // We offered lots of greenery along with garden roses, anemones, and ranunculus for attendees to incorporate into their wreaths. Stems were kept in buckets and vases to stay as fresh as possible, and even the plain buckets were dressed up with torn calendar pages for a creative, textured look that I really loved.

Greenery and flower breakdown

Greenery (wreath base): variegated pittosporum, olive branch, green bush ivy, pepperberry, ruscus, silver dollar eucalyptus

Flowers: white anemones, white ranunculus, red ranunculus, cream garden roses (Patience), dusty pink garden roses (Romantic Antike), ivory-peach garden roses (Caramel Antike), deep red garden roses (Tess), rosy-peach two-tone garden roses (Edith)

DIY ideas // Each place setting included a hand-painted placemat (leftover from a spring brunch), and we offered dyed canvas bags for attendees to take home. Small extras like airbrushed copper candles and a few candies finished the tablescape and felt like thoughtful gifts.

DIY wreaths // Watching how differently each person approached their wreath was the best part of the afternoon. No two wreaths looked the same—some leaned into lush, full shapes, while others went asymmetrical and artful. They all turned out beautifully. If you want to try making one yourself, the asymmetrical wreath tutorial is a great place to start.
