Last night Jeff and I saw Cirque du Soleil for the first time—Kurios—and it was incredible. The show was full of energy, creativity, and jaw-dropping performances. If you’re in Atlanta, it’s definitely worth the experience. This morning I’m a bit worn out after such an exciting night, so we’ll likely keep the weekend low-key. We might pack at some point, but that’s a story for another day.
For now, here are six DIY projects to try this weekend. Each one is approachable and can add style or function to your home:
1. DIY concrete vase using a mailing tube — A modern, industrial-inspired vase you can make with simple materials and basic tools. The finished piece makes a striking accent or gift.
2. Build a budget-friendly bench in an hour — A quick, practical woodworking project that adds extra seating and storage potential. It’s a great beginner-friendly build with a big payoff.
3. DIY rainbow St. Patrick’s Day shoes from The House That Lars Built — A playful painted-shoe tutorial that transforms plain footwear into colorful, festive kicks. Perfect for seasonal wear or a fun craft day.
4. Hand-painted indigo clay bowls from Alice and Lois — Learn how to create artisanal-looking bowls with indigo-inspired patterns. These make lovely decorative pieces or thoughtful handmade gifts.
5. DIY marble and gold accent table from Sugar & Cloth — This tutorial shows how to style a small table with a faux-marble finish and metallic accents for a chic, high-end look without the price tag.
6. Upside-down hanging floral arrangements — A creative arrangement idea that works for Easter or any time you want a dramatic floral display. The upside-down presentation gives bouquets an eye-catching, sculptural quality.
Wishing you a relaxing and creative weekend. Enjoy trying something new!
