Over the past few months I’ve been juggling everything from bath salts to yarn weavings. I traveled to South Carolina, California, and Texas, decided to move out of the only home we’ve had since relocating to Atlanta, and even launched a new column that I’ve been meaning to start for ages.
Despite all of that, I haven’t posted a single behind-the-scenes photo since the new year began. It’s not because I don’t have any—there are plenty—so today I’m sharing a rapid-fire collection of recent BTS moments to catch up and show what I’ve been working on lately.
I started prepping for a studio sale. I had a date planned, but something came up, so I’m regrouping and will announce it once things are finalized.
In the studio I began tackling a corner I hadn’t touched yet. It’s part entryway, part odd transitional space, and I wasn’t sure how to define it, but it’s coming together in a way I really like. I’ll probably share the reveal next week if you’re interested. The photo above gives a sneak peek of how it’s shaping up.

Franz sometimes likes to join the DIY projects when I’m working from home. This was one of those times—caught mid-project during a quick home decor hack.

I’ve actually been using the upcycled grocery bag totes we made for short grocery runs on foot. They’ve been surprisingly handy and durable.

This is my typical setup for small overhead shots right now: standing on a chair, using a large tile or board as the base, and arranging props around the edges. It’s simple, practical, and it gets the job done for product photography like the rose petal bath salts shoot.

Making bed linens look perfectly messy is harder than it looks—definitely a real struggle when styling the mid-century master bedroom makeover. It takes a bit of finessing to hit that effortless, tousled look.

I also stayed at one of the coolest Airbnbs I’ve ever visited—out in Ben Wheeler, Texas. It was a wonderful, minimalist spot and a memorable little escape.

Here’s some behind-the-scenes from a paper notebook DIY I recently made. It’s become one of my favorite small projects to create and photograph.

Sometimes Luna hops in on the action too—she’s a constant source of joy and makes shoots more fun whenever she wanders into frame. This was from a rooftop party shoot that turned out to be a favorite.
What have you been up to lately? Any behind-the-scenes moments in your world you’d like to share?
