Color-Blocked Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshakes for Milkshake Monday

It’s a PB&J milkshake kind of day! Who’s with me?

Color Blocked Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshakes

After sharing a string of peanut butter recipes recently, I didn’t want jelly to be left out. So today I’m combining two favorites into a fun, color-blocked peanut butter and jelly milkshake. It’s creamy, slightly nostalgic, and surprisingly satisfying—two layers of flavor in one glass.

These shakes also come with a little homemade peanut butter cookie on the side for extra indulgence. If you need a lift this week, a PB&J milkshake might be the perfect pick-me-up. Happy Monday!

Shake off the Monday blues and make a peanut butter and jelly milkshake with this simple recipe.

Not a jelly fan?

No problem—leave the jelly out and your shake will still be delicious. You can also swap the strawberry ice cream for extra vanilla to make a purely peanut butter milkshake. This recipe uses only a few ingredients and is easy to adapt, so feel free to adjust it to your taste.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshakes

PB&J Milkshake Ingredients

Servings: makes 1 milkshake

  • 2 medium scoops strawberry ice cream
  • 2 medium scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk (adjust for desired thickness)
  • 2–3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • strawberry jam or jelly (for garnish, optional)

How to Make a PB&J Milkshake (Instructions)

1. Spoon a little peanut butter into the bottom of your serving glass to anchor the peanut butter layer.

2. For the peanut butter layer: into a blender add the vanilla ice cream, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, and 1/4 cup milk. Blend until smooth—about 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on your blender. Pour this mixture into the glass over the spooned peanut butter.

3. Wipe or rinse the blender to prepare for the jelly layer.

4. For the jelly layer: add a small spoonful of strawberry jam to the glass if you like, then blend the strawberry ice cream with 1/4 cup milk until smooth. Carefully pour this mixture on top of the peanut butter layer to keep the color-blocked effect.

5. Top with whipped cream and a homemade peanut butter cookie, if desired. Finish with a dollop of jam for garnish.

Not a huge peanut butter and jelly fan?

That’s okay—PB&J isn’t for everyone. Try another flavor of milkshake that suits you if you prefer. The basic method here—blend, pour, and layer—works with many ice cream combinations.
