Best Coffee in Atlanta
These picks are listed without strict ranking—just a collection of excellent coffee shops worth visiting around the city.
Chrome Yellow
Old Fourth Ward.
Chrome Yellow is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. It’s close to my home, so I may be a little biased, but it has a terrific atmosphere, consistently great coffee, and a small retail area with notebooks, mugs, and other items I enjoy.
Their oatmeal cookie sandwiches are outstanding.
Muchacho
Reynoldstown (and on the BeltLine).
Muchacho is another charming neighborhood spot you’ve likely seen on Instagram thanks to its big yellow door and retro West Coast aesthetic. They also serve tasty breakfast tacos and avocado toast.
Full Commission
Grant Park.
This adorable shop offers both indoor and outdoor seating, excellent coffee and tea, and homemade pop tarts that are hard to resist. The menu is small but well-curated—try one of their salads if you want to sit down for a light meal.
East Pole
Armour Yards.
East Pole is a beautiful, light-filled space a bit off the usual routes. It’s worth the trip for the refined atmosphere and excellent coffee. Notably, they won a statewide award for their coffee in 2018.
Momo Cafe
Midtown / Georgia Tech area.
Attached to Momonoki, Momo Cafe focuses on chic coffee drinks and Japanese-inspired beverages, plus tea, matcha, and desserts. The branding and presentation are charming and distinctive.
Spiller Park
Ponce City Market and Toco Hills.
Spiller Park serves reliable coffee and some of the city’s better avocado toast. I usually visit the Ponce City Market location, but both spots are solid choices.
Taproom Coffee
Kirkwood.
I haven’t been to Taproom Coffee personally, but I’ve heard great things from friends. In addition to coffee, this spot also serves craft beer, which is a nice bonus if you’re looking for something different.
Brash Coffee
Westside Provisions District.
Brash is a must-visit while you’re at Westside Provisions. Their matcha lattes and golden milk lattes are very Instagram-friendly, and their cortado is excellent. The space is small—housed in a repurposed shipping container—but there’s outdoor seating and it’s a great spot to grab coffee and explore the nearby shops.
Octane
Grant Park.
The Grant Park Octane is my preferred location. It’s a dependable neighborhood café with good coffee, tea, and baked goods from Little Tart Bakeshop—perfect for a casual stop.
Dancing Goats
Ponce City Market.
Dancing Goats isn’t the trendiest option, but it reliably serves good coffee. They operate several locations citywide; I often visit the Ponce City Market or Decatur shops. Their chai latte is a favorite and they carry Emerald City bagels.
Mashburn Coffee
Westside Provisions District.
Located inside the Sid Mashburn clothing boutique, Mashburn Coffee is a tiny, refined coffee counter on the Westside. Keep in mind it’s closed on Sundays.
