Inside the Studio: Stripe Design, Style Guides & Shoe Production

Behind the scenes at the Paper & Stitch studio

There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes recently—shoots, apartment makeovers, and plans for a kitchen remodel in the studio (exciting!). With all that going on, I haven’t had much time for tidying up, so this behind-the-scenes update comes with its fair share of inevitable messes. As I always say: it’s not a mess, it’s a lifestyle. 🙂

Read on for a peek into the studio and what we’ve been up to.

I still put together monthly style guides at the studio, although I haven’t published them on the blog recently. I’m thinking about bringing them back—what do you think? Yay or nay?

Behind the Scenes: Stripes, Style Guides, and a Sea of Shoes

Here are a few outtakes from the Chattanooga trip—big thanks to Ash for snapping this shot.

Behind the Scenes: Stripes, Style Guides, and a Sea of Shoes

Between DIY shoe-makeover projects and a couple of fashion shoots with models, shoes have taken over the studio. I don’t mind one bit.

A colorful floral centerpiece with garden roses, hyacinth, thistle, stock, and more.

I attended a local event recently and received a generous floral centerpiece to bring home. The next day I bought garden roses and hyacinth to augment it for photos, but I didn’t end up using them—so I’m sharing the centerpiece here instead.

Patterns and pastels

There have been lots of dresses around the studio lately; the striped one is my current favorite.

P.S. This is a little off-topic, but have you been watching The Great British Baking Show on Netflix? We’ve been watching an episode each night and just finished season 1. It’s delightfully lighthearted and low on drama—which is exactly why I love it. What have you been up to lately? How’s your month going so far?
