This year I’ve made a conscious effort to take better care of myself. It may sound like a common resolution, but after a hectic end to last year—securing a studio space, hiring new team members, caring for a sick dog, and navigating the holidays—I realized many healthy habits fell by the wayside. There were more slices of cake and pizza nights than balanced meals, and exercise faded into the background.
Over the last few months I’ve been quietly rebuilding healthier routines—small, sustainable steps that support body, mind, and spirit. As part of that journey, I’ve partnered with OLLY to share a few practical actions that have helped me feel more balanced and energized.

1. Prioritize sleep. One of the most effective changes I’ve made is going to bed an hour earlier. I used to stay up very late—often until 2 a.m.—and the next morning would be a struggle. That extra hour of rest has made a noticeable difference in my energy and focus. I’m gradually working toward adding even more consistent sleep each night.

2. Create calming rituals. Most evenings I take a bath before bed. It’s not a replacement for daily showers, but it’s a calming ritual that helps me unwind. The warm soak helps me relax and often makes me sleepy, which supports that earlier bedtime and better sleep quality.

3. Start the day with a simple habit: vitamins. An easy change that’s had a positive impact is taking daily vitamins. I’ve been taking OLLY Super Foods and find them convenient and effective. Two vitamins a day provide essential vitamins and minerals plus antioxidants that aren’t typically found in standard multivitamins. They’re gluten-free and 100% vegetarian, and taking them each morning feels like a small but meaningful way to set a healthy tone for the day.

4. Eat more mindfully, not perfectly. I’ve cut back on frequent ice cream cones and chosen healthier foods most days, but I still allow myself treats. On recipe shoot days we taste-test desserts, and I don’t want to be overly restrictive. For me, moderation works better than complete deprivation—enjoying occasional treats prevents feelings of restriction that can lead to bingeing later.
Overall, these small adjustments—better sleep, calming routines, a consistent vitamin habit, and mindful eating—have brought me closer to a healthier lifestyle. I’m still progressing, but these steps feel manageable and sustainable.
