Easy 15-minute craft project suitable for kids or as a handmade gift for children.

colorful felt sheets make up diy pouches

While hunting through my craft stash for gift wrap for a child’s birthday, I stumbled on a few felt sheets and realized they’d make perfect little pouches. They can be charming gift packaging or a simple handmade present on their own.

This drawstring pouch is quick and simple to make — and great for kids to try. When I was young, I loved making things that looked more grown-up than “kid-made,” and this project gives that satisfying result without much effort.

Use these pouches to present small gifts, trinkets, or party favors for holidays and birthdays. Fill them with candy, tiny toys, or use them as stocking stuffers. Follow the steps below to make felt pouches in just a few minutes.

Have you heard of Jaemor Farms? If not, you have now — and the next time you’re in Georgia, add it to your itinerary.

Detail photo of peach orchard on farmland.

I’ve been sharing a lot about peaches lately — a peach galette recipe and some peach cocktails — but I promise this is the last peach-focused post for a while. Today I want to share the highlights from my visits to Jaemor Farms beyond just the peaches.

Jaemor Farms offers so much more than a single crop: apple orchards, blackberry patches, a bustling farm market, seasonal events, and plenty of picturesque fields to wander through. I visited several times and still found new corners of the farm to enjoy each trip.

Let's Party: 3 DIY Ideas to Take You From Party to Home Decor

I’ve been sharing lately how much I enjoy hosting the occasional party alongside my home décor projects. Today I’m combining those two passions to present three DIY ideas that work beautifully for a celebration and then translate directly into long-lasting home décor. The concept is straightforward: create party elements—photo booth backdrops, textiles, party favors—that are stylish for an event and functional enough to keep using in your home for years.

For this series I partnered with V8 to produce a two-part project: first, a detailed DIY tutorial for each party-turned-home-decor project; and second, a full party reveal showing these pieces in action. Those party photos and additional ideas will be shared tomorrow. The collaboration celebrates V8 Veggie Blends (a convenient way to get one full serving of vegetables per glass) and V8 +Energy (a refreshing energy drink powered by natural green tea).

Tomorrow I’ll share the party itself—complete with an edible table runner and more creative touches—but today I’m excited to walk through three timeless DIYs: a large woven photo booth backdrop that becomes wall art, naturally dyed linen napkins that brighten everyday meals, and rose-gold wire baskets upgraded with leather handles for stylish storage. Let’s get started.
